Another classic pre-work morning route shoot! There's nothing particularly life-changing in these galleries, but it was a lot of fun to play with the zoom on the RX100. As much as I am a prime lens advocate (my best photos have never come from a zoom), there's something very enjoyable about being able to just reach that little bit further without having to walk right up to my subjects (or even just taking advantage of compression factor to isolate a subject from the context around it).

It's been a bit over a week since I posted a little day-only blog, and that's because my morning photography has slowed down a lot more than I'd like. I blame my stupid over-ear headphones that I love to bits.
Every day, I pack my work bag with a fair few heavy items:
- A 16-inch MacBook Pro (a stupid pick made by a fool who didn't know he'd be bringing his laptop to and from the office every day...)
- Lunch (not in a lunchbox, and usually pretty dense)
- A camera (ideally)
- A decent number of jellybeans (for low blood sugar moments)
- A bunch of other random small things that all add up
Recently, with the death of my beloved Sony in-ears, and after trying five different pairs of in-ears that all sucked in their own special ways, I've also had to make space for my AirPods Max. While the better noise cancelling has been welcome on the bus, they were really not built for commuting. The metal ear cups may be striking, but they add a lot of bulk, which is noticeable both on your head and in your bag. As such, the camera is often the first to get left behind - even the little RX100 on days where I really don't want the weight.

What I'm listening to: "Flash Desire" - Yabujin
What I'm reading: nothing - I can't really say I'm even reading "House of Leaves" right now, I'm just too distracted and it's too time consuming. I think I'm gonna start "Neuromancer" by William Gibson post-wedding.
What I'm playing (a new category!): Balatro (bit late to this one but I am completely hooked, it's like if Solitaire was designed by someone with ADHD)
